2016 All-American Bowl Game MEARS MVP Doug Coleman And Signings Update. By Max Emfinger

Douglas Coleman (2016) WR
DOUG COLEMAN WINS TOP MEARS RATING MVP AWARD!

One of the Most Amazing “Under The Recruiting Radar” Players that I saw play this year was WR Doug Coleman of Zachary, Louisiana. Coleman teamed with Super-Star Quarterback Lindsey Scott to help lead the Zachary Broncos to the 2015 Louisiana 5A State Championship and Finished with an Outstanding 14-1 Record.

As a Junior,  Coleman Caught 52 Passes for 852-Yards and Eight Touchdowns which only sounds like Modest Figures for a Super-Star, but I saw him play as a Junior and I thought that he and Scott were Fabulous Football Players. Then, Coleman came back as a Senior and Caught 62 Passes for 1,482-Yards and 15 Touchdowns and with an Incredible 23.9 Yards Per Catch Average. Also, in the Semi-Finals Game Against Hahnville, Coleman Recorded Two Interceptions and Made All-District on both Offense and Defense.

In the 2015 State Championship Game, in the Mercedes-Benz Super-Dome, both Scott and Coleman were Unbelievable. In the First Half, the Broncos fell behind, but with 30 Seconds left in the Second Quarter, Scott hit Coleman on a Beautiful 17-Yard Touchdown and with the Extra Point, the Broncos took a 13-12 lead.

Then in the Third Quarter, Scott his Coleman again on an Electrifying 81-Yard  Touchdown and then later, Scott Scored on a Beautiful 26-Yard Touchdown Run to give them a Demanding 27-12 Lead. They finally won 46-12 to give them their First State Championship.  In the State Championship Game, Coleman Caught Three Passes for 124-Yards and Two Touchdowns, while averaging 41.3-Yards Per Catch.

I had invited Coleman to play in our All-American Bowl Game after his Junior Season, but he never responded, so we got to our First Tuesday Night Meeting, before our First Practice on Wednesday Morning and my Good Friend and West Team Wide Receiver Coach, C.J. Maiden, asked me where is Doug Coleman, Jr  and I told him that he never responded. “I Coached his Dad, Doug Coleman, Sr, and I think I can get him to play,” said Coach Maiden.

It was Amazing, but Coleman showed-up at the Hampton Hotel at around 10:00 P.M. and I Rated and Ranked him, with Spectacular Measurables, and I then put him on my Big Board. At all Four Practices on Wednesday and Thursday, all of the West Team Offensive Coaches were Ranting and Raving about how Coleman was a Future NFL Star.

Coleman caught Three Passes for 29-Yards in our All-American Bowl Game, but then the Excitement Started. Shortly after our Game, Coleman Committed to  Tulane to play Wide Receiver, but then Louisiana Tech Super Recruiter, Coach Jabbar Juluke, who was Recruiting Coleman for the Bulldogs, moved to Texas Tech and Offered Coleman to become a Red Raider as a Defensive Back. And then on the Last Day of January, Coleman Committed to become a Red Raider and he then Signed with them on National Signing Day.

Later! Juluke Changed Jobs again and became the New LSU Running Backs Coach. If time had not have “Run-Out” on Juluke, he would probably have taken Coleman with him to join him and his Friend, QB Scott, who Signed with the Tigers on National Signing Day.

Oh Yes! There is going to be another de’ja’ vu in Lubbock, Texas. Back in 1997, there was an Unbelievable Quarterback who Showed-Up in Lubbock from New Braunfels, Texas to play for My Good Friend and New Texas Tech Head Coach Mike Leach without Too Much Fanfare and “Flying Under the Recruiting Radar” and Five Years Later, he was Sitting in one of the Heisman Trophy Candidate Chairs. His Name was Kliff Kingsbury and he had led his New Braunfels Senior Team to a 13-2 Record, but what made him Really Special to me was the Fact that he had led his Team to Victory Six Times after losing at the Start of the Fourth Quarter.

Coach Leach realized just how Special Kliff Kingsbury was and he Red-Shirted him as a Freshman and then Five Years later he was Sitting in the Heisman Trophy Chair in New York after becoming the First Record-Setting Quarterback for Coach Leach.

Doug Coleman, Jr will be in Lubbock next Fall to play for Head Coach Kliff Kingsbury and the Texas Tech Coaching Staff has Very Little Knowledge about how much Unbelievable Potential that Coleman has and he will “End-Up” as a Special Super-Star Wide Receiver in the Texas Tech Great Passing Attack.

About maxemfingerrecruiting

My mission and goal is to search for that hidden high school football talent that has not been found yet. I then evaluate him and try to help him to get some publicity. In 2003, 2004, 2005. and 2006, I hosted my Annual 7on7 National Championship. My goal was to get great athletes to one area where I could evaluate them and then help them with college coaches. The only drawback was that college coaches wanted to see the hidden gems in a game-type highlight film and so the college coaches suggested to me that I host a real All-American Bowl Game so that they could view these talented players in a highlight film, playing against other talented players. It's noted that the NCAA doesn't allow the college coaches to attend All-American Games or practices and so the Game Film is a great tool for the college coaches. In 2005, I hosted my 1st Annual All-American Bowl Game. In nine games in nine years, my wife and I have helped 549 HS football players to get a scholarship that came to our first Bowl Game practice without a single scholarship offer. This also does not count over 1,000 players who we have helped that did not play in our game, including over 100 players in the 2010 Recruiting Season. My Super Elite Top Gun Camp idealogy, is of course, to get as many Top Football Players to a Top Gun Camp so that all of my coaches and I can evaluate them, rate them, rank them, and promote them. There will always be "Diamonds in the Rough" to be found. My First Annual Max Emfinger's Super Elite Top Gun Camp was in July of 2010. The Camp was amazing and loaded with unknown and known talent. Many of them were invited to play in our 2011 All-American Bowl Game Classic. In 2007, in my 3rd Annual All-American Bowl Game, a player by the name of Kareem Jackson came to our first Monday practice, without a single scholarship offer. Jackson decided to come out early and he became a #1 Draft Choice in the 2010 NFL Draft for the Houston Texans.
