WARNING: Some Photos are Very Graphic!

On Monday May 13, my Son Eric and his two-year bride, Jennifer, came to Plaquemine, Louisiana to visit Ginger and me. They also brought their two-year old Dog named Charlie with them. Eric and Jennifer had brought their Charlie-Dog with them last year and we had some problems with him and our dog, Mr Goof, but we thought that things would be better this year with Charlie and Mr Goof, but we were wrong.

ThumbnailOn Monday night, Charlie attacked Mr Goof as they were getting out of the car, but Charlie was on a leash and we were able to separate them, but this was not the case on Tuesday. Charlie grawled at Mr Goof (In Photo) a few times on Tuesday, but with great perception, Mr Goof decided to hang-out with me at my computor for most of the day on Tuesday.

At 2:30, on Tuesday, Charlie decided that he wanted to play with one of Mr Goof’s toys and so Mr Goof came into the room to inspect and as he did Charlie attacked him again. Eric and Jennifer immediately jumped-in to separate the two Dogs. As Charlie was trying to kill Mr Goof by biting him in the neck, Eric grabbed Charlie and as he did, Charlie bit the end of his left fore-finger off.

As Charlie bit Eric’s finger, Eric screamed that he had his finger biten-off and Ginger immediately found the end of his finger on the floor and put it quickly in a an ice bag to preserve for the Doctor, with hopes of re-attaching it to his finger.

Eric, Jennifer, and I got to The Emergency Room at Baton Rouge General at around 3:30 P.M. and his surgery was over at 6:00. Doctor William J. Hubbard could not re-attach the end of Eric’s finger, but he did graft some skin from his palm to cover the tip. Eric was discharged from the hospital later that night.

The original plan was for all three of them to go back to their home in Moore, Oklahoma on Saturday, but then the plan was changed so Eric could see Dr Hubbard and change the bandage on Monday May 20.

On Thursday, May 16, I gathered Eric, Jennifer, and Ginger in our kitchen. “Eric losing the tip of his finger was a tragedy, but everything happens for a reason. We do not know the reason why it happened and we might not know for awhile, but some day we will know why the Lord worked this tragic incident to Eric getting his finger bitten-off.”

Then on Monday May 20, I drove Eric and Jennifer back to Baton Rouge General Hospital to see Dr. Hubbard. We got to Dr. Hubbard’s office around 11:00 A.M. and after two nurses cleaned his hand and finger, we were happily surprised and socked that Eric still had a partial fingernail left on his finger.

By the time that we were ready to leave Baton Rouge, it was 1:00 P.M. and we got back to Plaquemine around 2:00 P.M. We then immediately heard on the News that there was a Tornado headed to Moore, Oklahoma. Eric and Jennifer have a Storm Cellar in the back-yard of their house and Jennifer immediately called some of her neighbors and told them that it was open and that they were welcome to use it if they wanted. The Weather Service Storm Center gave the people of Moore, Oklahoma a 16-minute warning before the Tornado touched down at 3:01 P.M., which is greater than the average eight to ten minutes.

About an hour later at 3:01, the worse Tornado in United States history tore through the neighborhood of Eric and Jennifer. One Neighbor-Mom was going to ride-out the Tornado and stay in her house during the Tornado, but decided at the last minute to use the Storm Cellar.

Once the Neighbor-Mom decided to use the Storm Cellar, she and her two children and two other children just bearly made it to the Storm Cellar before the Tornado hit, saving all five lives. Since EricJennifer, and Charlie-Dog were still in Plaquemine; all of their lives were also saved, making seven Humans and one Charlie-Dog saved.

This Tornado destroyed entire tracts of homes, including all of the homes on Eric and Jennifer’s side of the street. Cars were on top of each other everywhere, and many  Elementary School Children were beneath the School rubble. Our Hearts And Prayers are with all of the Parents of These Children. Our Prayers are also with the Adult victums who lost their Lives. Thank the Lord for the Brave Teachers who protected their Students by shielding the Children with their bodies.

Jennifer’s sister, Jessica Sherman, found Eric and Jennifer’s Wedding Photo in the rubble and placed it on the tree in their front yard where their house used to be.

Jessica also found one of Eric and Jennifer’s Video Movies and she placed it to the left of their Wedding Photo. As the Lord would have it, the Movie “Twister” was found in the rubble, un-damaged.

“The Lord works in Mysterious ways; His Miracles to Perform.”

This particular phrase is not found in the Bible, but it is very often used as a Bible Quote as being a Bible Verse in the Bible. The biggest Disaster of the Year was originally thought to be a tragic dog-bite, but as it turned out, the tragic dog-bite saved the lives of at least seven people and one Charlie-Dog.

Eric and Jennifer were saved, because they stayed in Louisiana to get his hand re-bandaged, but the Miracle of the Year was that if Eric and Jennifer would have been in Moore, Oklahoma, at 3:01 on Monday, when the Tornado hit, because of his Night Fire and Safety Job, Eric would have been sleeping. Even if Charlie-Dog would have been barking, Eric would not have gotton up, because Charlie-Dog barks every day when Eric is sleeping and Eric has learned to “Tune” him out.

When Eric is sleeping, during the day, he also does not answer his phone, so if Jennifer was trying to call him, he would not have answered. And then since Eric was not going to answer the phone, Jennifer would have come back home, from her job in Oklahoma City, to rescue him and Charlie-Dog and this would have put her life in grave danger.

Many More Miracles in Moore

People from all over the country are still pouring into Moore, Oklahoma to support the residents. Insurance Companies are working overtime to help out those residents who lost their house and most of their belongings. Eric and Jennifer have found some of their personal belongings, but much more is still missing.

A couple weeks before Easter, Ginger sent Eric and Jennifer a beautiful Easter Card with a $50.00 Check in it. They misplaced the Easter Card, but found it just before their trip to Louisiana. “I accidently misplaced the Easter Card when it came, but I found it just before leaving for Louisiana and I placed the $50.00 Check in our Night Stand, by our bed,” said Jennifer. “In all of that rubble, we found the $50.00 Check, unharmed, but we did not fine our Night Stand.” Eric also found his 22 Rifle and 357 Magnum, and they were undamaged. Both guns were under his up-side car, but his 1998 Red Mustang (Eric’s beloved car since High School) was a Total Loss.

Another day, Eric and Jennifer went to a Church Prayer Meeting and there was an “Angel” named Colleen who said personal Prayers for the PeopleEric was still on Pain Medicine and the “Angel” said a Personal Prayer for his Pain to go away. “I could not believe it,” said Eric. “I was having some severe pain, but my pain went away for almost 24 hours.”

“One of my neighbors had three snakes as pets and they had found only one of them. After the Prayer Meeting, about Ten-Minutes later, both of the lost Boa Constrictor-Snakes were found and unhurt.”

The whole city of Moore, Oklahoma, including the Hospital looks like a Debris Field,” said Moore Mayor Glen Lewis. This Tragic Tornado led to 377 injuries and 24 Deaths. The biggest Miracle is that it could have been much more worse!”

Ginger and I want to sincerely Thank all of Jennifer’s relatives in Oklahoma, local  volunteer groups, church groups, and all of the volunteers from around the country who poured immediately into Moore, Oklahoma to help the victums of this Tornado. We are Very Appreciate and Very Grateful for all of the volunteers who helped our beloved Son and Daughter-in-Law.

“God Bless You, and all of You are in our Prayers!”

About maxemfingerrecruiting

My mission and goal is to search for that hidden high school football talent that has not been found yet. I then evaluate him and try to help him to get some publicity. In 2003, 2004, 2005. and 2006, I hosted my Annual 7on7 National Championship. My goal was to get great athletes to one area where I could evaluate them and then help them with college coaches. The only drawback was that college coaches wanted to see the hidden gems in a game-type highlight film and so the college coaches suggested to me that I host a real All-American Bowl Game so that they could view these talented players in a highlight film, playing against other talented players. It's noted that the NCAA doesn't allow the college coaches to attend All-American Games or practices and so the Game Film is a great tool for the college coaches. In 2005, I hosted my 1st Annual All-American Bowl Game. In nine games in nine years, my wife and I have helped 549 HS football players to get a scholarship that came to our first Bowl Game practice without a single scholarship offer. This also does not count over 1,000 players who we have helped that did not play in our game, including over 100 players in the 2010 Recruiting Season. My Super Elite Top Gun Camp idealogy, is of course, to get as many Top Football Players to a Top Gun Camp so that all of my coaches and I can evaluate them, rate them, rank them, and promote them. There will always be "Diamonds in the Rough" to be found. My First Annual Max Emfinger's Super Elite Top Gun Camp was in July of 2010. The Camp was amazing and loaded with unknown and known talent. Many of them were invited to play in our 2011 All-American Bowl Game Classic. In 2007, in my 3rd Annual All-American Bowl Game, a player by the name of Kareem Jackson came to our first Monday practice, without a single scholarship offer. Jackson decided to come out early and he became a #1 Draft Choice in the 2010 NFL Draft for the Houston Texans.
