SUPER ELITE TOP GUN COMBINE/CAMP

Dear __________________________________,

If you are holding this Max Emfinger/The 6th Man Foundation Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camp Invitation in your hands, then you are one of the Top High School Football players in the country for your age group and recruiting class. You are also considered by at least one other recruiting service, college football coach, or one of my own coaching staff scout members to be that Super Elite high school football player. You also may be that Super Elite football player that for some mysterious reason, has not been recognized, or what we call in the recruiting world as “Flying-Under the Recruiting Radar” to many of the college football coaches.

Many of our Top Gun athletes for 2013 are already a 5-Star or 6-Star prospects on my MEARS Rating System for next season. At least 5-8 players and one Kicker in each Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camp will get an Invitation to play in my Tenth Annual All-American Bowl Game Classic. So you will have a chance to be discovered and when our coaches discover you, you will be invited to play in our Tenth Annual 2014 All-American Bowl Game Classic, that will be played on January 3, 2014 at Panama City Bay Football Stadium in Panama City, Florida.

You will be tested at our Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camp by some of the greatest coaches in the country. You will be instructed and tested in all normal Super Combine skills and you will be evaluated by some of my All-American Bowl Game Classic Position Coaches and former NFL players and former NFL position coaches.

Each Athlete and Kicker at our 2013 SUPER ELITE TOP GUN COMBINE/CAMPS will be given an individual MEARS RATING by Super Scout  Max Emfinger and my All-American Bowl Game Coaching Staff. Kickers will be given an indivudal rating by one of our Kicking Guru Coaches. I developed the MEARS RATING after I left the Dallas Cowboys as a Talent Scout in 1976, and it is an evaluation process that is used to evaluate a player in relation to his position; and each position is measured by a standard for that position. All of the College and NFL Teams use a similar rating system.

Some of our Top Gun Combine Coaches include QB Coach Sonny Detmer, who coached Ty Detmer who won the 1990 Heisman Trophy; All-Pro cornerback, Kick Returner, and 2012 West Head Coach Tyrone Hughes of the New Orleans Saints; Baylor Hall of Famer and All-Pro Free Safety Thomas Everett of the Dallas Cowboys; and Defensive Tackle Coach Terrence Sanders who played two years for Head Coach Bill Parcells and the New York Giants in 1989-1990 and then for Head Coach Bill Belichick and the Cleveland Browns in 1991-1992. Coach Dan Lundy and Coach Mike McCabe are considered to be two of the best Kicking and Punting Coaches in the Country and they already have been working with many of you.

In our previous Top Gun Combine/Camps, the Player Fee was $150.00 or more per Player, but due to the terrible economy, we have dropped the Player Fee from $150.00 to $125.00, but you must pay your Player Fee in advance and the Cutoff Date is April 6. We will take “Walk-Ups” but the “Walk-Ups” must pay $150.00. Top National 100 Players will get a $25.00 Discount. With these prices, you will definitely not want to miss this great opportunity to work with these very impressive Top Gun Coaches.

I am extending a formal invitation to you to attend one of our Max Emfinger/The 6th Man Foundation Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camps. You can pay by MasterCard or Visa Credit or Debit Card on PayPay.com by going to Max Emfinger All-American Bowl Game Classic.

RB Julian Hayes, RB/CB Ameer Abdullah,  and WR/FS Ronald Martin

Julian Hayes with a 37-inch Vertical Jump and a 4.16 in the Pro-Shuttle while weighing 228 pounds was our biggest Super Combine Freak. Ameer Abdullah did a 40-inch Vertical Jump and was nick-named at the Top Gun Combine/Camp as the next Mini Deion Sanders. Abdullah signed with Nebraska and had a 100-yard kickoff return for a touchdown as a True Freshman. Another Top Gun Camper who was outstanding was WR Odell Beckham who did a 38-inch Vertical Jump and a 4.02 in the Pro-Shuttle. Martin and Beckham made numerous one-handed catches in The 7on7 Competition Drills and both signed with LSU. Beckham was a True Freshman Starter for the Tigers, while Martin Red-shirted and then as a Red-Shirt Freshman, in 2012, was voted as the Defensive Back of the Week in the SEC after getting two interceptions in one game.

Odell Beckham is seen here making another one-handed catch!

Both Beckham and Abdullah were selected to the 2011 Freshman All-American TeamHayes was voted by all of the coaches, including my vote, as Offensive Skills MVP. All Four Super Combine Freaks did not have a single scholarship offer before I invited them to participate in my 2010 Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camp.

Sam Carter & Floyd Mattison, Jazz King, Armand Williams, Demontre Moore.

In 2009, I had four Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camps and in each Camp, I discovered some incredible Super Combine Freaks. Carter (6-2, 215, 4.5) was an unbelievable athletic quarterback who did a 36-inch Vertical Jump and a 4.2 in the Pro-Shuttle; but his LB teammate, Mattison, (6-0, 205, 4.32) might have been the Super Combine Freak of the year with a  38-inch Vertical Jump; a 4.0 Pro-Shuttle; a 125-inch Standing Broad Jump; and he did 28 reps on the 185-pound Bench Press.

WR King did a 4.35 in the Forty; a 38-inch Vertical Jump; an incredible 3.91 in the Pro-Shuttle; and a 120-inch Standing Broad Jump. WR Williams did a 42-inch Vertical Jump and an amazing World Record 139-inch Standing Broad Jump at my Zachary Super Combine. I was standing there when the coach announced 139. I said, “No! it’s 129,” but I looked down and saw that it was actually 139. He also was our Game MVP.

Carter was the West Team Quarterback MVP in the All-American Bowl Game and he signed with TCU. He is now the starting strong safety for the Horned Frogs. Mattison signed with Iowa StateKing signed with Marshall and Williams signed with LSU. All Five Super Combine Freaks received invitations to play in the 2010 All-American Bowl Game Classic.

Moore shocked the Recruiting World at this a NIKE Super Combine by recording some incredible measurables for a defensive end when he ran a 4.6 in the forty after stumbling at the start; did a 36-inch Vertical Jump; and an amazing 4.26 in the Pro-Shuttle. After making 2012 All-AmericanMoore is coming out early for the 2013 NFL Draft and is expected to be an Early Draft Choice in the First Round.

Another unbelievable story was RB James McKinney who came to our Sunday Super Combine before our 2010 All-American Bowl Game on Saturday. He had no offers, but he did a 36-inch Vertical Jump and a 4.02 Pro-Shuttle. I then invited him to play in our game. McKinney went home, got his pads; came back, and was elected West Quad Captain with Carter; got offers on the following Monday and signed with Richmond.

Development of the MEARS ASSET RATING SYSTEM
By Max Emfinger

Whether you are a college football coach and you only have one scholarship left to give in your current recruiting class or you are an NFL team and you only have one Draft Choice left in your current NFL Draft, there needs to be a rating system that you can go to and based on the highest rated player, would give you the very best player available Regardless of Position.

One of the early reasons that the Dallas Cowboys were always successful in the NFL Draft was because they probably had more information on every player and they were able to make more valid decisions on each player, based on that information. Their philosophy has always been that the more information, the more valid the decision as to whether to draft him or not.

In 1975-76, I was a Dallas Cowboys Talent Scout and when I left the Cowboys in 1976, I developed a similar rating system that was used with the Cowboys, but I shelved my RATING SYSTEM until 2001. So in 2001, when NIKE developed a similar rating system and called it The SPARQ RATING SYSTEM, I decided to bring back my RATING SYSTEM and I called it the MAX EMFINGER ASSET RATING SYSTEM or MEARS RATING.

ASSET stands for Agility, Strength, Stamina, Explosiveness, and Technique. These are the essential tools for a superior athletic performance in any competitive event. This new ASSET RATING SYSTEM identifies overall athletic ability and the MEARS INDEX RATING or a similar system is used by top College and Pro coaches and trainers around the country as an initial indicator of the athletes potential of an athlete on the football field.

The MEARS RATINGS or a similar type rating is very important for the NFL Scouts, and The NFL Scouting Combine is the first time that “Accurate Numbers” are recorded on these players. It’s easy to say someone can run a 4.4 or a 4.3 in the Forty, but before an Accurate Hand-Held Timing by a Professional Scout or either by a slower, but Accurate Laser Timing is done, most Forty Times are less than Accurate.

Technique is also very important and that is why that the College Football players who are entering the NFL Draft will many times hire a Sports Trainer to train them and teach them how to do a Vertical Jump, Pro-Agility Shuttle, and a Standing Broad Jump.

This is why that my Super Elite Top Gun Combine/Camp is so important for all of the young and inexperienced High School Football players. Some of my Top Gun Coaches are the best in the industry at teaching Technique on the Vertical Jump and the Pro-Agility Shuttle. Many of the young players will learn the proper Technique to do these Measurables at our Top Gun Combine/Camps and although they may not become Super Combine Freaks at our Super Combine/Camp, they will learn how to do the Measurables with the proper Technique and perhaps be the Super Combine Freak at a later Super Combine/Camp in their career.

It is also very important to note that in these other Super Combines that are run by other Services and other Individuals, they are simply not going to limit the participants and thus they will not spend any time with the participants in teaching them proper Technique or Style in doing any of the Measurables.

Also, we will reward all of the Super Combine Freaks with a Special Invitation to play in a Post-Season All-American Bowl Game. Most of our invitations will be given to a Senior for my Tenth Annual 2014 All-American Bowl Game Classic, on the Bay in Panama City, Florida, on January 3, 2014, but I could give an invitation to a Junior for the 2015 All-American Bowl Game Classic, two years away.

About maxemfingerrecruiting

My mission and goal is to search for that hidden high school football talent that has not been found yet. I then evaluate him and try to help him to get some publicity. In 2003, 2004, 2005. and 2006, I hosted my Annual 7on7 National Championship. My goal was to get great athletes to one area where I could evaluate them and then help them with college coaches. The only drawback was that college coaches wanted to see the hidden gems in a game-type highlight film and so the college coaches suggested to me that I host a real All-American Bowl Game so that they could view these talented players in a highlight film, playing against other talented players. It's noted that the NCAA doesn't allow the college coaches to attend All-American Games or practices and so the Game Film is a great tool for the college coaches. In 2005, I hosted my 1st Annual All-American Bowl Game. In nine games in nine years, my wife and I have helped 549 HS football players to get a scholarship that came to our first Bowl Game practice without a single scholarship offer. This also does not count over 1,000 players who we have helped that did not play in our game, including over 100 players in the 2010 Recruiting Season. My Super Elite Top Gun Camp idealogy, is of course, to get as many Top Football Players to a Top Gun Camp so that all of my coaches and I can evaluate them, rate them, rank them, and promote them. There will always be "Diamonds in the Rough" to be found. My First Annual Max Emfinger's Super Elite Top Gun Camp was in July of 2010. The Camp was amazing and loaded with unknown and known talent. Many of them were invited to play in our 2011 All-American Bowl Game Classic. In 2007, in my 3rd Annual All-American Bowl Game, a player by the name of Kareem Jackson came to our first Monday practice, without a single scholarship offer. Jackson decided to come out early and he became a #1 Draft Choice in the 2010 NFL Draft for the Houston Texans.
